Menu Planning W/O July 31st

Guess what week it is in the Midwest - corn week!  There is nothing that says summer like corn picked fresh from the farmer's field.  We had corn with dinner every night this week, which means we did have to do a little tweaking because corn on the cob doesn't go very well with tacos.

I'm pretty pleased with how we followed our menu plan this week, we were able to eat together almost every day this week.  Instead of going out for dinner we had steaks on the grill (note to self - don't send the kids out to buy the steak.  They don't know how to look at prices, yikes!) and instead of tacos we had brats two nights this week(to go with the corn theme).  It helped that the husband was on vacation this week so he could have dinner on the table when I got home from work.

I don't typically talk about our sides very often, mostly because I don't really know what I'm going to serve until dinner is pretty much on the table!  This week we served; pasta salad, fresh tomatoes with salt & pepper, baked potatoes, watermelon, new potatoes with mushroom & onions and of course corn on the cob!

I'm planning on the following for the upcoming week

Breakfast

Cereal
Blueberry muffins (I bought blueberries at the farmer's market this week so we'll go with scratch this week)
Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches
Turnovers

Lunch

Personal Pizzas
Bagel sandwiches
Hot dogs
Quesadillas

Dinner

Chicken/stuffing casserole
Hamburgers
Brats
Pizza
Dinner out
Take out
Fend for yourself (we have at least one crazy evening where everyone will grab whatever they want)

We'll see if there will be corn again this week :)

What about you?  Do you have an interesting menu planned?
